But before you dive into picking up a combo machine, I feel obligated to point out a little bit more about juicing to help you decide if you really want to get into it at all.
Should You be Making Smoothies AND Juices?
As I mentioned about the juice vs smoothie debate, you'll find it easy to dig up tons of articles published and even studies praising the health benefits of juicing.
And you'll find just as many others on smoothie making and why it should replace juicing altogether.
I personally believe there is great value in drinking both, so that's what I do.
Juicing and smoothies each have a different effect on your body.
But both will inject a lot more nutrition into your diet when you are using a lot of vegetables (especially greens), berries and fruit to make them.
Consider the Pros and Cons About Juicing
You can give your digestive system a rest for a day or two by just drinking fresh, home extracted juices. This way you are still feeding your body lots of vitamins and nutrition but are also allowing your digestive system and liver to rest and cleanse.
Juicing helps to inject your body with a high amount of vitamins and nutrients that are extracted from the produce. It's a super dose of concentrated nutrition.
You can easily drink the juice made from a large apple, 2 big carrots, 1 celery stick an orange, a small cucumber, a chunk of ginger and small beet all at once but you probably wouldn't eat all of these at one meal.

One problem with juicing (especially centrifugal juicers) is that it removes the fiber which is so good for so many reasons. Fiber keeps you fuller and slows down the sugars in fruit from absorbing into your system too fast.
The fast absorbing fruit sugars can actually upset your blood sugar levels.
Centrifugal juicers are the least expensive type to buy.
They chew up and grind produce with a series of sharp little teeth spinning at a very high speed.
This causes some heat from the friction and it,
So your juice has less nutrition than the kind made from a blender or the juice from a cold press or masticating machine.
These work slowly by churning fruits and veggies with a slow turning auger. The auger forces the produce against a mesh screen and then presses it through. This squeezes the juice out.

The Pros and Cons of Smoothies
When made with wholesome and natural ingredients, a home blended smoothie is much healthier but just as yummy as an unhealthy fast food shake.
Plus, you can add leafy greens, nuts, chia or flax seeds to boost the nutrition. You can't put those things into a juicer machine.
But with a high-powered blender that can liquefy and pulverize all ingredients - including frozen fruit, ice, nuts or seeds - you can incorporate so many healthy things and not even know they are in your smoothie.
Fills You Up
Since you are using whole fruits or vegetables, you will also benefit from the fiber and nutrition in the pulp. Add a scoop of protein powder to improve the nutrition and it can really fill you up.

1. Make Juices and Smoothies with One Machine
If you believe that you do want to make juices and you want a blender for all its other uses - including smoothie making - the Breville Juice & Blend might be the best choice for you.
