Glass Blender – 5 Best Blenders with a Glass Jar

Are you looking for a classic glass jar blender like what were once the industry standard?

These days a lot of blender manufacturers have switched to using BPA-free Tritan plastic containers.

The main reason for that change to high strength Tritan plastic is directly due to the much higher power and speed that many current blenders run at.

Regular glass jars just won't hold up against the stress without the threat of cracking.

Even though your choice of glass blender might be a bit limited, there are still quite a few to compare.

We've looked at different user reviews, industry reviews and tests conclude which ones are the 5 best glass blenders on the market.

What to Look at When Buying a Glass Jar Blender

Overall Power
You will find that in most cases, a blender with a glass jar will not have as much power as any of the high-powered blenders that come with a plastic jar.

The main reason is because a regular glass jar is not completely shatterproof.

As such, many manufacturers of glass blenders will make them with a power level that will be low enough to not cause cracking of the pitcher.

So you must keep in mind that most glass blenders are going to be in the range of 450-700 Watts, which is less than half the 1200 to 1440 Watts produced by the likes of Vitamix, Blendtec and other high-powered blenders.

This can potentially be a problem for certain blending tasks.

But if you don't plan on making nut butter or pureeing other hard ingredients (like some raw vegetables) it may not be an issue for you.

Type of Glass Jar

Not all glass is the same. With the advances in technology, there is glass that is more resistant to shock and shattering.

By using thermal and shock-resistant glass for the jar, a blender can operate at higher speed and have more power than in the past. Say, 900 to 1200 Watts instead of just 500 to 700 Watts.

Blending Speeds

Most blenders will come with some different speeds and maybe even some preset programs.

Presets are nice since they offer ease of use and often, better overall performance.

The preset programs are especially helpful to save time in the kitchen. You get the opportunity to turn away and do another task after hitting the program button, while also knowing that you'll get a consistent result.

Check the warranty. Sadly, you will find most of these blenders will only have a 1 year manufacturers warranty. So you should also look at some user reviews.

A poorly made blender can have issues like overheating or cheap plastic parts breaking in a short time. Stick with buying a reputable brand with a history of offering good value for the price.

We used a mix of the above criteria along with user reviews to put together this list of the 5 best blenders with glass jars:

Top Pick for Glass Blender

Aimores Commercial Blender
Aimores Glass Jar Blender

This blender operates at a peak of 900 watts with a stirring power level of 500 watts. And it is the only one that also cooks!

The Aimores Heating Blender and Soup Maker, is very unique. This company has a worldwide patent on their heating technology which allows you to use the blender to heat on low, medium, and high.

You can then use the stir function just as if you were stirring a pot with a wooden spoon to mix ingredients while cooking.

This blender can cook soups, sauces and even desserts. Plus you can whip up the usual cold blends like smoothies, milkshakes or make crushed ice.

Pros based on User Reviews:

  • This blender offers whatever consistency you like. From fine (small seeds remain) to ultra fine (seeds/spices blended thoroughly).
  • Overall blends are very uniform. Excellent for smoothies, salsas, spaghetti sauce and other sauces.
  • Jar is made from thermal shock-resistant glass to stand up to higher power
  • Stainless Steel blade design is highly effective at processing smooth blends and handling hard items like nuts for making flour and nut butters
  • 8 pre-programmed settings, manual speeds and cooking settings - shown in the image below:

Cons for this blender:

  • This is a newer product, so it doesn't have a long history or record of reliability like legacy brands
  • The manufacturers warranty is just the standard 1 year
  • This is the highest priced glass blender on this list - but given all the extra functions, the pre-programs and the quality of shatterproof glass jar used, it is understandable.

Overall Verdict:

Aimores Commercial Blender is the top pick among glass jar blenders but is a newer product. So we had to do a lot of digging to find user reviews from other sources - including overseas (UK, Australia and Germany).

It offers good performance and great versatility for the price.

Given how happy all of the users are with this blender, and its unique versatility, we had to choose this one as the Best Glass Jar Blender.

Oster Pro 1200 Blender
Best Oster Glass Blender

This blender is the most powerful glass blender on our list. The peak power is 1200 Watts, which is why that number is in its name!

The overall review for this is very good with many of the real user comments saying that it "blends all ingredients smoothly".

And, we found on Consumer Reports that they found this Oster Pro 1200 tested really well in overall performance.

This model has a 6-cup silicate glass pitcher that is temperature and stress resistant. It also comes with a 24oz smoothie blending jar.

It features seven controls that include; 3-speeds (low, medium and high), a pulse mode, and preset programs for smoothies, chopping, and milkshakes.

This Oster has reversing blade action so stopping to mix the ingredients is not necessary.

Pros based on User Reviews:

  • The Oster Pro 1200 has awesome power for a glass jar blender.

Best Value Glass Blender

Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher Blender

The Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher is my top 'budget blender' pick.

It ranks as #3 on this list because it is weaker in performance than the above blenders, but is still a great choice if you just need a cheaper blender for basic blending.

This blender has a 700-watt peak power motor and 40oz thermal shock resistant glass jar.

It also features 14 different blending functions.

It uses Hamilton Beach’s patented Wave~Action system which is designed to make smooth drinks every time.

This blender is also designed for easy cleanup.

Every Hamilton Beach Blender is covered with a 3-year limited warranty. That's gives you some decent peace of mind.

Pros based on User Reviews:

  • Hamilton Beach brand is recognized for dependability and durability.
  • Covered by a solid 3-year warranty.

This is a really nice blender for the price.  It has over 900 reviews and the user feedback is very positive about the performance of this blender.

Cons for this blender:

  • It doesn’t do well at pureeing difficult ingredients like frozen fruit.
  • It's just not great at some difficult blending jobs like processing hard, raw vegetables, grinding flour, or making nut butter.

Overall Verdict: Good value for a glass blender. This Hamilton Beach model is the best performing blender amongst other comparable blenders.

It's a solid choice for your general blending needs.

Note that it may take some extra blending time for more difficult tasks. But it's still an overall good blender for the under $50 price point.

Fourth Choice Glass Blender

Oster Reverse Crusher Counterforms Blender

The Oster Reverse Crush Counterforms blender has 1000 watts of power and is actually made in North America (but not all Osters are).

It's made with high quality steel and an All-Metal Drive system. This means the two connecting pieces are made of metal rather than plastic.

A metal drive system lasts longer and gives you a really durable blender.

The glass jar has a 6 cup capacity and is made from their Boroclass® glass which is thermal shock resistant for safety.

And like the Oster Pro 1200, it has the same reverse blade action technology to help move ingredients around for better blending and reduced jam ups.

It has 7 speeds from low to high.

The stainless steel 6-point blade assembly easily tackles heavy duty tasks like ice crushing and chopping hard vegetables.

The smart setting program is a feature that's been called amazing by customers who have used it. It allows you to just press a button and it does whatever task you've commanded it to do without any further action by you.

Pros based on User Reviews:

  • The glass pitcher is shatterproof.
  • The reverse blade action control is a great feature for keeping the ingredients moving.
  • It is priced very competitively.

Cons for this blender:

  • Limited in its blending capability. It will do fine for most smoothies, milkshakes, making salsa, and basic blending tasks
  • It does not do a great job at heavy duty blending tasks that are horsepower-intensive milling flour, making nut butter and some soups.

Overall Verdict: The Oster Reverse Crush Counterforms blender offers nice features for the price especially if you want a glass pitcher.

Fifth Choice Glass Blender

BLACK+DECKER BL1821RG-P FusionBlade Digital Blender
BLACK+DECKER Glass Jar blender

This is an okay low-priced option coming in at under $50  Black and Decker blender looks slick and has great user reviews.

This model is equipped with a 6 cup(48oz) glass jar and 700 watts of power.

Their FusionBlade is made from stainless steel and is designed to crush ice.

This blender has a 'Smoothie' six preset program and manual speed functions.

Pros - What Users Liked Most: It comes with 4 speed setting and a handy smoothie program button.  It seems to perform OK for the price but not as well as the similarly-priced Oster glass blenders listed above.

Plus, many people really like the 20 oz personal sized blending/serving jar. It's ideal to make a blend and go smoothie or protein shake in the morning.

Cons for this blender: Even though this blender sells really well, I found the reviews to be quite mixed on its smoothie blending ability. About 16% were really not happy, which is a high number.

The glass jar is not made of shatterproof grade glass.

Overall Verdict: Thise Black+Decker FusionBlade is my last choice from all of the glass jar blenders.

I really just added it to the list because of the low price and popularity.

A lot of people are familiar with the Black and Decker brand, but there are better choices for performance and price than this model.

Bottom Line for Picking a Glass Blender

My suggestion is to go with the Aimores blender or one of the Oster models if I were choosing a glass blender.
